Pinch, poke
Well, I'm very sorry that I still haven't posted pictures of Azucena (because she's definitely more of a toddler, now!) but we're still trying to clean the computer and make sure there's actually space for new pictures to be saved on here. :)
However, a new habit that she's picked up (from where?!) is that she loves to pinch me. And it hurts! Most often it's while she's nursing. I'll hold her and feed her and she'll shove her fingers into my armpit, the back of my arm, my neck, my chest, anywhere, and start pinching my skin. OUCH! I still haven't convinced her this is a bad idea. I'll stop feeding her, I'll say "ow!," I'll say "no," I'll ask her to use soft touches, NOTHING WORKS.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to stop this from driving me crazy?
And, since I know you're curious, she'll pinch me other times, too. Like when she's walking across the length of the couch and passes me. Or when we're sitting on the floor playing. But those times I can just walk away. Can't do that while nursing!

11 Months Old!
You've almost made it a whole year, Azucena! Congratulations! I still can't believe how much you've grown. You're much more toddler-like now. You can crawl very quickly (much too quickly, in my opinion) and you can pull yourself onto any sort of surface, even the wall. You're still a little hesitant to walk on your own but you sure do love when we hold you by one or two hands and you try to run, sometimes.
This month, you started to:
This month, you started to:
- give us a "cheesy" grin (you'll look at us and smile, then squint your eyes and show your gums)
- point at or hand us what you want (which is especially hilarious when you're eating, because you'll ignore everything else in front of you and insist on something particular (usually your strawberry yogurt bites))
- hide from us. And not just in the hide-and-seek way, but you'll crawl away and not want us to follow you
- babble like crazy. You have complete conversations with yourself in your wonderful baby-talk. I love it!
- imitate sounds we teach you. For a while, you were really good at hooting like a gorilla :)
Your favorite words are da-DAH? (Daddy) and DAH-da! (or BAH-ba!, if we're lucky enough to get the b sound that day) (baby)
Pictures in a couple of days!
