The next few posts will be about pre-wedding/wedding/Honeymoon/moving in. Sorry to bore your socks off. Well, maybe not about the honeymoon information, hee hee. I know all of you are really excited to hear about "Harry Potter Land."
Okay, so, pre-wedding plans:
Clark and I got kicked out of our apartment complex Saturday, August 14th. For a number of reasons, this was the worst day ever. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been as bad if a) I'd had more than 2 hours of sleep a night for the entire week prior to moving out and b) I had less than half the stuff that I do.
Regardless, we were out when we were supposed to be and moved up to his parents' house, temporarily. Well, he moved to his grandmother's couch and I moved into the only room not occupied by a living human being/all of my boxed stuff. But still, we had a home for the next week, which I was very grateful for. :D
Saturday night: came back to Alta for RockBand and to finish preparing the talk that I had been asked to give a little earlier in the week. Ended up chatting with the girls I was staying with until 4 a.m. which meant the talk didn't get finished until 7 a.m.
Sunday: went to church at our old ward, gave a talk, went to Sunday School where Clark taught, enjoyed Relief Society (for the most part; I started to doze due to lack of sleep), had an interview with the bishop to replace the temple recommend that had been lost during the move, went to the stake center for the stake presidency portion but had to get it rescheduled due to lots of random bad things happening on their end, finally ended up back in Riverton, starting working on wedding stuff.
Monday: going through some of the boxes that had been haphazardly packed, picking up some materials for the wedding.
Tuesday: my parents and two of my brothers got into town. We went out to dinner and also took care of some wedding stuff. Like buying me things that I needed for the temple the next day.
Wednesday: received my endowments. It was amazing. Seriously. So grateful I could do that with my family.
Thursday: Morning doctor appointment in downtown SLC, random downpour while on the highway drive back, trying to figure out whether or not we could still set up the backyard for the reception, wedding pictures for three hours at the Salt Lake temple (my favorite part was the little girl that thought I was a princess and wanted to talk to me while I was in my wedding gown). Making signs for the neighborhood, finishing my guest book, filling up the centerpieces (the picture frames), working out seating at the luncheon.
Next post will be about the wedding, and might include pictures. :D

A Home!
We signed for a place to live! The only problem is that we don't know when the current tenants are moving out, so we don't know when we can move in. Boo. But as soon as we can start moving in, I'll take some pictures to share with all of you.

Cheesecake tasting
In honor of National Cheesecake Day, the Cheesecake Factory sold their slices at half price. Clark and I went over to try a couple different kinds to see what we wanted for our "wedding cake."
The winner (which is called something along the lines of "Chocolate Tuxedo"):

Us, after having stuffed our faces and bellies with much delicious cheesecake:

Cross your fingers!
We may have found a place to live.
But I don't want to jinx it, so I'll wait until this weekend to have a real update. :D

Surreal
Even after looking at apartments for an hour and sitting in my apartment for another two tonight writing addresses on wedding invitations with Clark, I still don't believe I'm getting married in less than a month. It just hasn't sunk in, yet, I guess.

July 15 - Bridal Shower
Thursday night was my bridal shower! I was so happy to see so many good friends that night. Lots of Clark's family was able to make it (mom, grandmas, aunts, cousins) and my Aunt Julie and four of my cousins, plus lots of old roommates, friends from old wards and jobs and girls from my current ward. I'm sorry I don't have many pictures--my roommate was in charge of those and she's been gone all weekend. I'll steal from her later. :)

Official-official
Today I got my ring back!
Now when I get all those awkward hitting-on moments, I can throw my hand up in their face and say, "whoa, there! I'm taken!"
You know, in my mind. ;)

Some engagement pictures!
Hey everyone,
Marcie just posted a sneak peek of our engagement pictures. And pretty much anything you click on in this post will take you right to her page. So leave her some comments, because I like her and I read her blogs all the time so I'll see your thoughts on there!

The Shiny, the Precious, etc.
I love that old roommates (and their spouses) have such funny nicknames for the engagement/wedding ring. And even though I won't have my ring back until sometime next week (sorry Marcie, we won't get to see it in the pictures) I borrowed some pictures of it from the online store and have put them here.
Don't say I never did anything for you. ;)

Check
Checklists are my best friend right now. Really.
Also, can't wait for engagement pictures on Saturday. Hopefully Marcie doesn't mind me posting a few of them on my blog later. :D

Shopping!
Considering I have only ten weeks before I get married, I have to take care of a lot of details in the next couple of weeks and, since my roommates (and ex-roommates) are awesome people, they insisted I start working on finding a dress. We went by Alysse's Bridal Shop on Wednesday and here are two of my favorite pictures (just overall, not because of the actual dresses I'm wearing).

Some of the Story
Some of you have been asking for the story. Here's the short version:
Clark and I met through FHE in the Alta 56th Ward in the summer of 2008. He was my "dad" and in a relationship with someone else. Both of our apartments got along incredibly well so we started hanging out together nearly every day of the week. We started dating January 4, 2009. We hung out with each other's families and had a lot of fun and really enjoyed getting to know each other. Clark and I got engaged just after midnight on June 8th (technically 9th) after having a few chats about us and our relationship and where we wanted to be with life.
The really short story: I finally said yes!
Anyway, the plans that we have settled so far are that our sealing ceremony will be August 20th, 2:20 pm in the Salt Lake City temple. I am so happy to be marrying him and I can't believe how wonderful he is and his family and I have loved hearing from all my friends through phone calls, texts, e-mails and messages on Facebook. Y'all are the best and I hope that once we have our reception plans settled, that you can make it out to Utah to celebrate with us!
