Our library throws a themed Christmas party each year. This year was a Harry Potter Christmas! Clark and I dressed appropriately and Azucena enjoyed finding all the magical touches around the library. We also got to see Santa again! We love our local library and all the thoughtful family activities they host.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, pt. 1
Woo! Got to see Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, pt. 1 on opening night in Orem. As stated on Facebook, I loved it, with the exception of the ending, which I still believe could have been done much better. As it stands, it just felt like they made both parts one film and then, for some reason, decided to just cut the filmstrip where they ended the first film. Weird. Rubbed me the wrong way.
But, other than that, it was a great night and I liked the film a lot. :) Here are some pictures!

And, randomly, here's a chocolate chip cookie recipe I found:
Chocolate Chip recipe:
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
2 teaspoons hot water
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Book Clubs
I wish I knew more about what to do in book clubs. I would have to say that the Harry Potter Companion is like one . . . sort of. Well, it's about a series of books that I (and other visitors) have read and we discuss nit-picky things. But what Harry Potter fan doesn't sit there with crazy theories all the time? Or remember all the havoc and crazy theories that were out there before the seventh book came out? It'll be different when I attend the book club meeting tomorrow for the book The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society. I mean, it's not about wizards and I haven't been reading the book over and over for a decade. Has anyone out there been part of a good book club and want to give tips on what to discuss?

I'm so excited!
One of the reasons BYU is so cool:
Tonight, the ESC's weekly planetarium show will be Harry Potter themed.
I love astronomy.
I love Harry Potter.
I'm super excited. :D

Dance party--IN LONDON!
Awesome things that happened yesterday:
- I was doing a little cleaning/organizing last night and came across two different fan fics that I originally read two or three years ago along with a few essays about theories on how things would end.
- I purchased mugglenet.com's "Harry Potter Should Have Died" and have been working my way through that.
- I saw Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince for the second time (still awesome!)
- Looked up a bunch of Harry Potter fan art while on Deviantart.com

The Beginning of the End . . .
Once upon a time there was a girl.
She was a regular sort of girl, shorter than most, liked to be with friends, but mostly liked to read.
One day, this girl was visiting a friend's house. There, on a chair, was a copy of TIME magazine (one of her favorites, along with the National Geographic). On the cover was an illustration of a dark-haired boy surrounded by swirls and glitter. In fact, THIS is the cover. The friend, offhandedly, said "I think you'd like the books it talks about, have you heard of them?" and the little girl picked up the magazine and immediately read the article.
This began her not-so-secret love of the Harry Potter novels.
Nearly ten years (has it really been that long?!) after finding out about these wonderful books, the series has concluded, but this young woman is starting to get excited again. Because, 6 days, 6 hours and 44 minutes from posting this, she will be sitting in a theater with some of her dearest friends, watching yet another film adaptation of these amazing books.
I. Can't. Wait.

How can I keep all of myself within my skin?
Well, kids. We've reached the less-than-twenty days mark. We're even at less than fifteen!
In fact, we're exactly TWO WEEKS away from pure awesomeness.
Sadly, in this instance, there is a charge--$8.50.
It's totally worth it. :D

"Sometimes, fanfics make me giggle"
I am not an author by any means (that's why I keep Tryn around); however, can't authors tell when their work is getting ridiculous? Really?
