Tautphaus Zoo - Free Museum Day

The Tautphaus zoo also happened to have free admission so we spent the second half of the day hanging out with animals. The girls were in fine form--every time they saw a statue they asked me to take their picture and made some ridiculous faces in the process. Also, the petting zoo portion was open this time so the girls were able to feed the goats and the ducks!

Idaho Potato Museum - Free Museum Day

Smithsonian's Free Museum day included the Idaho Potato Museum in Blackfoot so we packed up the car and headed north to make a day of it for the girls. It's a small place but has some really interesting stuff like stamp replicas from all over the world based on potatoes, the world's largest potato crisp, and a giant baked potato statue outside. :)

Idaho State Football

Our friend Matt had some extra tickets to the Idaho State football game, so our little family got to go the happy sporting event. The girls fell asleep during the first quarter (seriously, our kids can sleep anywhere!) but when they woke up, we got them to cheer for the tigers, even though the fact that we were in a dome stadium which meant Azucena hated all the noise. :)

Comic Con, part 1

Clark and I agreed that our late anniversary gift to each other would be tickets to the Salt Lake City Comic Con. We were so happy to make it even though we weren't able to finish our costumes in time for the awesome event. Nevertheless, we enjoyed the effort everyone else went to to make theirs. Here is a small sampling of the first day and a half. :)

I love that they did steam punk Jack Frost and Elsa. And I ran into Effie in the restroom. :)

This Korra was standing behind us in line. We loved that these brothers put their own names on the jumpsuits.

I love group and couple costumes! This poor Hans said that so many children told him he was mean or wouldn't let him be in pictures because of what he did in the movie. Sad, huh?
Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Moon. My first exposure to anime. :) And Brandon Sanderson--yay!

Clark almost got squashed by a troll. Almost. And I love Bert and Mary. :D
We found a posse of princesses and then a random Flynn Rider walked by and they made him pose with them, too!
Clark is definitely more suited to the Dark Side than I am. Oh well, that's what I get for being short.

First Haircut!

So, it took me forever to come to this point but I finally trimmed my little Adelaide's hair. I think I kept putting it off because 1. she's my baby and 2. she has such adorable curls. As you can see from the first picture, her hair was starting to thin out at the bottom and grow in a V shape, so I put on my big-girl pants and cut and evened out the back.

And here are her curls coming back, stronger than before (still curly even immediately after brushing!).
