Easter

Easter morning we set out a basket of eggs for Azucena to open and have fun with. We also got her a couple of new board books. She loved finding things like socks, bracelets, bubbles, and rubber ducks in her eggs. (Yes, I'm going to be that kind of mother.) Both girls had new Easter dresses from Grandma. (And I just realized that Azucena's dress pictures are on my phone, not my camera. Grr.)

I love that they're both looking at the camera in this shot.

Saturday is a Special Day

Saturday was kind of a crazy day! Because we were planning on being in Provo for a couple of things, it meant that we ended up doing a TON of stuff because we don't live there anymore.

We had planned to participate in the Easter Egg Hunt that BYU/Provo city were planning but, honestly, there were about 12,000 people there and by the time we got down to Provo, Azucena had fallen asleep and we didn't want to fight the crowds, so we just went into the stadium early for the spring football game.

It also turned out that Brady had a meet at UVU that afternoon, so we headed up there to cheer on Azucena's favorite uncle. He was part of the spring medley team and they were hoping to qualify for state. They needed to race in under 3:39. I'll let you figure out whether or not they qualified . . . :D

As always, we took a little time to visit our ex-neighbors, the Carters, and their sweet little girl who is only four days, ten minutes younger than our Adelaide. I can't believe how much these two have grown!

You can just tell that they're holding hands. How adorable!

{Not pictured} We then headed to Emily and Michelle's house to enjoy the last Twilight film with RiffTrax. It feels good to 1) never have to watch those horrible movies again and 2) laugh ridiculous amounts with good friends. I'm so grateful for each one of them!

Easter Egg Hunt

Before Tyler left the state, we had to have an Easter egg hunt for everyone!

Snapshots

Just wanted to post a couple of pictures of my eldest baby so the interwebs can see. :D

Can't wait for this sassiness to resurface when she's a teenager.

Every time I saw her on Sunday, I thought she looked like a flapper. :D

St. Patrick's Day

This holiday time around, we were able to attend church and I have to say that our family looked totally adorable all in green. :D We actually picked up the outfit Adelaide is wearing last year before we even got pregnant. How's that for luck? Anyway, we had a great day at church and enjoyed dinner down in Riverton.

I believe the term "lucky butt" applies.
Azucena is at the age where she will not be still for a photo. At all. Which is why so many have her lying down on the ground. :D

Playing Outside

What with the warmer weather lately, we've been able to go outside to play!

Guess who can climb all by herself? (Don't worry--we spot her all the time. I just stepped back for half a second to take these pictures.)

Her hair-do is a mix of going down the slide and static electricity. :)
Some of you may be wondering, where was Adelaide during all of this? Well . . .

Being a newborn is rough.

Colorado Trip, pt. 3

Since our family struggled with getting to Alamosa Thursday night (thank you bomb scare) we didn't have a ton of time together but mornings with kids always makes up for that. :D

Love that the older kids appreciate sleeping in!
 Bathtime for the little ones.

Grandparents with all five babies!

Colorado Trip, pt. 2

The grandparents were very excited to have five little kids in the house (and six big ones, hee hee!). I love watching grandparents play with little babies.

Azucena forced Dad to lay down on the stairs with her, frequently. As you may be able to tell from this picture, Dad's torso is longer than the stair. What a good sport!

Silly grandpa faces. :D

Colorado Trip, pt. 1

Last weekend we were able to go out to Colorado to visit the grandparents. Of course, we can't go on a road trip without some sort of adventure. About 40 miles out of Montrose, we came to a police stop and, after a little while, found out that there was a "bomb threat" up ahead on the road and they were waiting for the bomb squad from Grand Junction to get there (about a two and a half hour drive). After waiting for about an hour, we decided it would be better to backtrack the 40 miles to Montrose and get a hotel for the night. The parents were nice enough to make a reservation for us while we drove and we had a pretty pleasant evening at the Econolodge in town.

The biggest perk for driving through the last couple of mountain passes during the day was that we didn't have to spend the last half of the trip on edge about an animal jumping in front of the car suddenly. Surprisingly, we still ran across about a half a dozen deer and a dozen mountain goats.

Starting the road trip with a good book.
Actually got a good shot of the sign!

Not zoomed in!

Mom was really excited to have the little baby in the house. :)

3 Months (Adelaide)

Dear, sweet, little Adelaide,

Every day you grow older and more beautiful and I love how much you've already changed but, at the same time, it breaks my heart to see my squishy little newborn gone.

While you are getting bigger and growing longer (and finally grown out of your newborn-sized clothing!) your feet are still tiny. Your sister never fit into the size 1 shoes (sorry all of you who gifted those to her at the shower!) and you have yet to fill them. Your CO grandma says that that means you'll be a petite lady and I think it'll be fun to have a truly little girl. (Your head is also much smaller than Azucena's was, which means you can use the newborn-sized headbands, too!)

You're so much more alert right now. You prefer to be facing out so you can watch the world. This means we can't just hold you in our arms anymore--we have to prop you up or sit you on our laps if we want you near.

While you have the gripping power of a gorilla, you actually don't like holding things in your hand, with few exceptions; when you nurse, you love grabbing my clothing. This frustrates your older sister who just wants to hold your hand and constantly tries to pry your hand open so she can slip her finger inside.

You are not yet rolling over by yourself but you are a wiggler and you can get to where you want to go just by moving your entire body. It's especially funny when we're both in bed and I move away so I don't crush you but you want to be near (for body heat? easy snacking?) and you rock yourself so much that your body finally ends up next to mine again.

I love you and am so happy to see you growing and learning.

All my love,
Mommy

  What fun faces you make!

You love sucking on your hand!

Kaiah's 3rd Birthday

Cousin Kaiah turned three years old and wanted to have an Alice in Wonderland themed birthday party. Lots of family came to celebrate and had some pretty fun outfits. We love spending time with family and were very happy to celebrate Kaiah's birthday with her!

The topsy-turvy birthday cake!

I love Kasie's miniature hat headpiece. So cute!
