Guys and Dolls Anniversary Date

Clark decided to surprise me with tickets to see Guys and Dolls at Centerpoint Legacy Theater in Centerville. I was so excited! This is a show that I hadn't seen on stage before and it was pretty well done. The actor portraying Nicely-Nicely NAILED "Sit Down You're Rocking the Boat"! My favorite was the actress who played Adelaide. She had the accent down pat and was super entertaining to watch. I loved listening to her sing the duet "Sue Me." Thank you, Clark, for such a great way to celebrate our five years together!

N111 Reunion!

I am so, SO grateful that I was able to meet up with Lyndsy, Marcie, Rachel, and Allison! Rachel got married in the middle of the summer and we had an online discussion about the fact that it had been FOREVER since getting together--turns out it had been about ten years! We'd seen individuals on occasion but never as a group. 

We met up in American Fork and had a really great lunch. We got to catch up about children, jobs, marriage, family, living in and out of Utah, etc. It was a highlight of my weekend! I really hope that we can meet up again before another ten years passes by.

Golf Anniversary Date

Saturday morning Clark scheduled a tee time for the both of us and borrowed some clubs from Grandma Earley. We both headed to South Mountain and enjoyed a few hours of (trying) to hit some golf balls. We had a few good holes and a few rough ones (and, frankly, as the morning wore on, we both got tired and just started to perform poorly). The best part of our date was that we got to ride around in a golf cart!

Meredith Ashton's Garden Party

We were so lucky to be able to go to Meredith's wedding party Friday night! She's such a wonderful woman and we were blessed to be in the same single's ward as her when we lived at Alta. Also, just as we started to walk up the hill to the park, the Tracys pulled up, so it was a double exciting evening because we could spend it with good friends catching up!

Roommate Anniversary Dinner!

To celebrate our fifth anniversary (and Kerry's fourth, and Emily's golden birthday) we went down to Utah to party it up all weekend long and began the festivities with dinner at India Palace. Happily, Kendel was in town for BYU's Education Week and he came along, too! We really enjoyed the meal and the company and even though we were there for a few hours, the time was too short. I wish we lived closer so we could visit with these awesome people more often!

Aurora - Seven Months

On the 13th, you turned seven months old!
*16 lbs
*26 5/8 inches
*You started to crawl a couple of weeks ago and you're getting very fast!
*On the morning of your birthday, you started to pull yourself up so you could stand. You LOVE standing!
*You love jabbering to yourself but your favorite sound to make it "mama" and you almost always say it when you're upset and I'm not next to you. You know that saying that will bring me to you!
*You love eating real food. You just have to shove it in your mouth. You insist on holding the feeding spoon for at least part of the meal.
*You're still a champion night sleeper (almost always 12 hours straight!) but your daytime naps are starting to get pretty crummy. I miss when you'd take a two hour nap in the middle of the day! Now you're fighting to stay awake all day long so you can play with your sisters and barely take twenty minute naps, if you can help it.
*You love splashing in the water when you get to take a bath. LOVE IT.

Cedar City Temple Groundbreaking Ceremony

On Saturday, the Church held the groundbreaking ceremony for the Cedar City Utah temple. We were so lucky and blessed to be in town visiting my parents that day! Mom and Dad were given tickets to attend on site while everyone else in the 17 stakes that are part of the temple district were able to watch a broadcast from the stake centers. Elder L. Whitney Clayton presided and it was wonderful to hear the stories of pioneers and forefathers cultivating the area and demonstrating great faith. My parents are so lucky that they will be about a half a mile from a temple in just a couple of years!

 Elder Clayton invited all in attendance to participate in the groundbreaking themselves by shoveling some of the dirt (sand). Of COURSE we took him up on the offer!

 

I LOVE the gorgeous artwork of the temple. The building will be so beautiful!
