Rock Band vs. Guitar Hero
So, remember that time that I always blog about Rock Band? And how amazing it is? Well . . . *shifty eyes* It may have let me down.
"What?" you say. "How can the most amazing video game have let you down?"
It doesn't have Coldplay, the Eagles, Michael Jackson and Wings like Guitar Hero: World Tour, does.
I feel like I've been betrayed and become a traitor, all at once. :(

'Tis the season . . .
for road trips!
And I'm about to have my first of the season . . . that's right kids, I'm going home for, um, 36 hours? Well, no matter, I'm still getting away from my apartment (which is awesome and definitely home and I'll miss my roommates and my ward) but, hey, I get to be with Clark for a car ride there and a car ride back.
If my memory cards ever quit acting up, I'll post so many pictures!

A Little Princess
I am not a very nice person when I'm stressed/tired/hungry. And you can take those dashes to mean "or" or "and." Whichever.
"Spam, spam, bacon, eggs, and spam, spam . . . "
I wish I could tell you that I eat breakfast like a good little girl. I wish I could make my mother proud in saying that I eat three well-rounded meals a day. I wish I could say that I start the day off right.
But I don't.
Even when I actually try to eat breakfast during the normal breakfast hours, it ends up taking forever. For example, I've been trying to finish this 6 oz container of light strawberry Yoplait (R) for the last 45 minutes. That's right, kids, 45 minutes. I don't know what's wrong with me, but for some reason I never have an appetite before . . . oh, 11 am? And by then I want a real meal, one with substance. I call it lunch.
This makes traveling home rather interesting. Thankfully, I have two teenage brothers still there (one of which will eat anything and everything, as long as he's in a good mood) who I can help me thwart the evil that overfilling yourself. I guess I'll have to keep you updated with what happens this weekend . . .

Rock Band on tour
Well, until I can figure out how to uploading pictures magically I guess I'll just have to fall back on something else for my blog posts . . .
Like Rock Band. :D
APPARENTLY there is a Total Rock, Total Rewards competition. And, DANG, I'm totally sad I was completely unaware of it. You got a "rock band" together, and performed, for real, for people. On stage. With the plastic instruments. So you could move ahead in life and go to the regionals. Apparently the finale is May 16th.
But, seriously, how did I not know about this in time to get my friends and myself entered?

One Quarter!
One of the few things cooler than Harry Potter:
Family.
And the fact that I get to be with a few of them on this, the anniversary of my birth day!

Bonding
I am eternally grateful for the people in my life. Especially the ones I "have to" live with. My roommates this past year have been utterly amazing and I know that the Lord was looking out for (at least) me.
Last night, in particular, reminded me of how much I am loved and cared for. Thank you, my dear, sweet roommates, for your patience, understanding, wisdom-beyond-years, and love. For truly trying to help me see who I need to be and who I can be. For reminding me that I am a daughter of God and he wants nothing but my happiness.
For being my sisters.

I do . . . on expert!
Remember that time that I blogged four times today?
Remember that other time that I googled "Rock Band"?
This is what I found: oh dear
(Also, there seems to be a dispute as to whether or not these are cuff links or wedding rings. Either way, they're a bit reDONKulous, and I had to share my giggle moment.)

Just in case . . .
My parents were going to try coming up in March. They said they had time, no work, and didn't mind only being down for a day and a half. Then, after a lot of discussion and trying to figure things out with my brothers, they decided the the trip wasn't feasible after all. A few days later, I got a text from my dad asking if he and my mom could be part of my birthday plans. I let him know that that was a definite possibility and have been completely stoked since.
Now the weather has decided to be ridiculously horrible. My parents and I are in the middle of frantic replanning--just in case. Just in case the snow out here doesn't stop on Thursday. Just in case the snowstorm that is supposed to hit Alamosa really does show up late Thursday/early Friday (right when they're leaving). Just in case the passes out of the San Luis Valley all close.
And, just in case, I might have to buy a tub of ice cream in which to drown my sorrows. :(

Bollywood gets fat
Indian food is *definitely* spicier two days later.
But it's still dang good. :D
::edit:: I was going to include some pictures from my apartment trip to Indian Palace but the world wide interweb is refusing to upload pictures. Grr.

How is it that every time it totally counts to send letters to my missionary brother I completely space it?! *facepalm*

Andrea Bocelli's got nothing on me!
I would just like to say that being in an office all by yourself, while nice, is still very, very lonely.
Unless you start belting opera. :D

Shutterbug
Since everyone and their pet hamster is getting married, I've obviously heard a lot of different plans/been to a few showers and/or receptions/looked through a lot of wedding pictures. And here is what I've decided:
I'm hanging a camera around my neck during my reception. I don't care how much I'm paying a photographer for pictures, I like taking them, too. And I want to have access to them immediately. So . . . yeah. That's my decision for today.
I have the feeling my mother will try to talk me out of it when/if it's ever brought up, *giggle*.

"And you belong with me"
An apartment in our ward hosts a Treat Night every Wednesday. Last night's was especially sweet because an old friend had returned from a three month absence (hooray, internships) and another just got engaged. The following is a portion of a text message conversation I had with a friend after I left the festivities:
-You stinker being all excited about someone else's engagement and not showing me your ring!
-What are you talking about? I don't have a ring.
-Oh jk michelle made it sound like it was you.
-That girl. No, I'm sorry she mislead you.
-She mentioned your name then the next sentence was something about a ring and i said already? And we blame the noise
-I still blame her. You let her know that. :)
-she will plead her cause later but for now sticks her tongue out. :)
I think my favorite part was that I was called a "stinker." :D

Whites go in hot
How is it that, even after all my good intentions and planning, I still have no time to do laundry? Ever?

"Anybody want a peanut?"
Along the same lines as my Color Post, I've had random urges to come up with absurd "mixes." And by absurd, I just mean that I have no idea why I want to group certain songs together, except for the fact that they have a random "theme." If you have any songs you think I should add, I'm just making playlists on YouTube so suggest whatever you'd like and I'll see if I enjoy the songs enough to throw them in there.
Note: the songs do not have to refer to the theme in the title, these examples just happen to.
Current themes I'm "collecting":
"Asian" mix
"Lovers in Japan" Coldplay
"I Think I'm Turning Japanese"
"One Night in Bangkok" from Chess
Nautical (having to do with water, sea, ocean, etc.)
"Walk on the Ocean" Toad the Wet Sprocket
"Swallowed in the Sea" Coldplay
"The Ocean Breathes Salty" Modest Mouse
Numbers
"One" remake by Aimee Mann
"1 2 3 4" Plain White T's
"Hundred" the Fray

100 Days!
If I could figure out technology, I would put a counter on my blog so everyone would know exactly how many days are left for the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.
100 days and counting!

"Hence 'ex'"
Just because I obsess over something, doesn't mean I don't like people for not liking/obsessing over it, too.
Like Tryn telling me that the reason a guy is my "ex" is because he never took the time to read Harry Potter.
*rolls eyes* No, Tryn, that's not why we broke up. But if you make fun of my random love of numbers again, I might have to switch roommates. ;)

Recipe
1 part gorgeous, sad, orchestral music (Adagio for Strings, Mozart's Requiem, Moonlight Sonata, or something of that ilk)
2 - 10 warm chocolate chip cookies
1 bucketful of tender memories
Let it all soak in for a few minutes.
Cry a little.
Continue enjoying life.

Motivation
I just think it's kind of humorous that every time I decide I really will start taking walks/going on hikes/jogging/something outdoorsy to get me in shape, it snows. Every. Time.
Does the world want me to stay the same shape I am?
