Colorado Trip, pt. 1

Last weekend we were able to go out to Colorado to visit the grandparents. Of course, we can't go on a road trip without some sort of adventure. About 40 miles out of Montrose, we came to a police stop and, after a little while, found out that there was a "bomb threat" up ahead on the road and they were waiting for the bomb squad from Grand Junction to get there (about a two and a half hour drive). After waiting for about an hour, we decided it would be better to backtrack the 40 miles to Montrose and get a hotel for the night. The parents were nice enough to make a reservation for us while we drove and we had a pretty pleasant evening at the Econolodge in town.

The biggest perk for driving through the last couple of mountain passes during the day was that we didn't have to spend the last half of the trip on edge about an animal jumping in front of the car suddenly. Surprisingly, we still ran across about a half a dozen deer and a dozen mountain goats.

Starting the road trip with a good book.
Actually got a good shot of the sign!

Not zoomed in!

Mom was really excited to have the little baby in the house. :)
